The Federal Reserve released it’s December Federal Open Market Committee statement today, which details issues covered in their December meeting on the national economy. The report, among other things, states that economic growth has “paused” in recent months due to bad weather conditions. Reporting on employment, the FOMC states that job opportunities have grown at a “moderate pace”, however unemployment remains high. On the consumer side of the fence, the report mentions that families are spending more and the housing sector is continuing to see gains. On the business side, fixed investments are up.
